About Our School
St. John the Baptist Catholic School is located at 115 London Street South, Hamilton, Ontario.
St. John the Baptist was built in 1929 but it is has a wonderful blend of modern and traditional elements.
Recently there have been major renovations.
A gym, computer lab and a classroom were added in 2000.
St. Christopher amalgamated with St. St. John the Baptist in Sept. 2008.
At that time renovations were done to the office, library, front entrance and new heating
and air conditioning units were put into all classrooms.
Our Full Day Early Learning Kindergarten area was renovated in 2013.
Overall, the building full of character.
The school is next door to St. John the Baptist Church, where Father Laszlow Amaszka is the pastor.
Father Laszlow has an active role in our school, visiting classes, celebrating Mass and preparing students for the sacraments.
He is also a member of the Catholic School Council.
We are fortunate to have Father Laszlow as our spiritual leader.
While we are proud of the building, it is the people who make St. John the Baptist a great place to learn.
We have approximately 310 students. We are very proud of their efforts.
Our students are hard-working and cooperative.
They are actively involved in the many extra curricular school activities and they lead many positive programs that enhance learning in our school.
We have a sensational staff who work hard to make St. John a place with a focus on high standards of achievement.
Their leadership, effort and energy lead to a tremendous learning environment.
We are blessed to have an active, supportive parent community and Catholic School Council.
Our Catholic School Council, with our parent community, help to organize the School Barbecue, Pizza, Snack Program, Special Lunch Days, and many other activities.
Their involvement in the education of our students enhances the learning that happens in our school.
All of these combine to make St. John the Baptist an active, vibrant Catholic school.
